A Decision has been made regarding the continued operation of this station. Effective Nov 26 this station will have a temporary format of All Christmas Music ( Christmas On Ocean Mix ) throughout the upcoming Holiday Season. Beginning in the new year this station will then permanently be known as Starburst FM with a musical format of Classic Hits of the 60's, 70's and 80's .

Since it's start in 2001  Jig FM has not had the listener support that we had hoped for. Unlike  stations that broadcast on radio airwaves , each and every day we are provided with the statistics on how many listeners we have and how many hours they listen

In the earlier years even though listenership had always been a concern, at that time there were no music royalty costs associated with maintaining the operation of the station. Since 2003 we have personally had to pay from our own resources  the monthly music royalty fees for the music streamed. This not only included  the fees for JIG-FM but also the fees associated with the operation  of our two other stations which have proved to be  more viable endeavours acquiring multiple times more listeners who have showed their support by signing up as VIP listeners which in turn helps us keep the stations running

.Unfortunately  we had to change the stations’ music format to something more viable for our listeners worldwide. We did receive many  favorable comments over the years but when it came down to the economic feasibility to continue on, the numbers and support just weren’t there.
